We spend so much time moving around at lightning speed, rushing from point A to point b, that we miss the entire world that surrounds us. We live our lives oblivious to the beauty that exists right in our own backyards. That is, until one day, we get lost.

We typed the address into our GPS to someplace I don't recall out in who knows where and headed on our way. We took the off ramp as instructed and turned here and there like we were supposed to.

We ended up on a small two lane, oak shaded road that wound its way through some hills. No longer thinking we were on he right road, we just couldn't turn around at this point, it was beautiful. After a fourty minute drive through back country, we acually came to our destination which was located right next to an on and an off ramp to the Hwy we originally turned off of, just 5 miles further down.

Don't really know why the GPS took us the way it did, but I was happy.

We had such a great time on our adventure, that we decided to do it again...on purpose. Driving down the 76 we decided to turn off not knowing where we were going. Nothing. Making a u-turn in an unasuming drive way to head back home, we ended up in the parking lot of the Rosicrucian Fellowship compound. All I can say is WOW.

Polaroids! Who doesn't love instant gratification? For me it brings up memories of the 70's. As a kid I remember waving that poor picture around like a crazy person, checking it every 10 seconds to see if it was done yet.

Imagine how happy I was to find not one but TWO great camera apps for my Droid Incredible.

The first app is the Retro Camera app using the Xolaroid camera.

It has high contrast and high X-processing saturation. The color cast is blue/green and pictures of plants and bodies of water come out great. The unique style gives plain pictures an interesting look.

The second app is the FX Camera app using the Polandroid camera. It gives the picture a warmer tone great for vacation shots.

With a little help from Pic-Say Pro you can even add writing to the bottom just like the real thing.

If you're looking for something unigue to change things up, grab a paroid and have fun.

Now, I'm off to go take some more pictures and shake my camera phone around like a crazy person!

Having Fun With Your Camera

There are many reasons we take pictures; artistic purposes, memories, documentation. Sometimes we take pictures just to be silly.

Pictures can he silly, stupid, funny, absurd. They can mean nothing, something, have hidden meanings or make a blatant comment about society or politics.

Creating silly or fun pictures only have to do one thing; bring laughter to the photographer.

For more pictures of my eyeball visit

So go out and take some silly pictures and feel free to leave the link in the comments section.

All pictures were taken with the Vignette camera app and edited with the PicSay Pro app.

The Bärbl Camera

The Bärbl is a German camera circa early 1950's. With it's low saturation and neutral color cast the pictures look almost black and white

The picture with its square frame and minor scratches transposes a regular picture into something nostalgic.

What I truly like about the Bärbl is how it can give a picture a strong sense of time. A picture taken today can look as if it was taken decades ago

None of these photos have been edited and are shown just as they were taken. Bärbl photos taken using the Retro Camera app by Urbian, Inc

The Little Orange Box

The Little Orange Box is a russian camera circa 1970's. With its high contrast and high saturation it creates beautiful and unique photos out of ordinary subjects.

A simple picture of a lake is transformed into something fun and interesting

I took many pictures of this plant last year and none of them turned out any good. The first shot I took using the Little Orange Box camera app came ouf great and is easily one of my favorites

All the photos in this post were taken with the Little Orange Box camera found in the Retro Camera App by Urbian Inc

In Memory

Thursday night we got a call that my Father in Law Roger, who has been very ill, woke up and said he was going to die tonight. We arrived out there around 1 am and had a good visit with him for a little while before he fell asleep.

Friday when hospice arrived at 12:30 they found him dead, we had just been in there 5 minutes prior and he was breathing. I do not know how he knew or why my mother in law Yvonne knew to believe him and call us but I am very glad she did. We were there and she didn't have to go through this alone and we got to do what most people wish they could, we got to say good bye.

Saturday as I sat on the patio eating an english muffin, I took in the view that Roger took in every day as he sat in the same seat.

I watched the ducks and birds he loved so much play around down below. Every week we'd go out there and every week the first thing he would ask me "did you feed the birds?" The bird feeder is in an odd place and his wife could not get to it to refill it.

Everytime I see birds at a bird feeder or ducks floating across a quiet lake I will think of you Roger

The following pictures were taken with the 4 different cameras the Retro Camera app by Urbian,Inc Comes with. I shot each picture one after the other and tried to make them all the same so you could see the difference.

This little guy was unafraid as I got close to take this picture. I could see his eyes follow me as I circled him to find the best picture opportunity as if he was more interested in me than I was in him.

This cool looking plant was planted last year. The other plants in this barrel over grew it and buried it and I was sure it died away. Found the plant while trimming back the plants this spring.

Rock Garden

Had some left over succulents and a broken decorative flower pot along with some rocks. Put them together and I have one awsome little rock garden. It's amazing what you can do with left over stuff

This is Cali. Her owners lived in the front house, unit A, of the tri-plex I live in. When they moved they intentionally left her. The mom (if you can call her that) hated her. Actually she hated a lot. She hid behind God and church and called herself a good Christian. The tenants in Unit B and us in Unit C have decided that between the two of us we will take care of her.
