The Bärbl Camera

The Bärbl is a German camera circa early 1950's. With it's low saturation and neutral color cast the pictures look almost black and white

The picture with its square frame and minor scratches transposes a regular picture into something nostalgic.

What I truly like about the Bärbl is how it can give a picture a strong sense of time. A picture taken today can look as if it was taken decades ago

The Little Orange Box

The Little Orange Box is a russian camera circa 1970's. With its high contrast and high saturation it creates beautiful and unique photos out of ordinary subjects.

A simple picture of a lake is transformed into something fun and interesting

I took many pictures of this plant last year and none of them turned out any good. The first shot I took using the Little Orange Box camera app came ouf great and is easily one of my favorites

In Memory

Thursday night we got a call that my Father in Law Roger, who has been very ill, woke up and said he was going to die tonight. We arrived out there around 1 am and had a good visit with him for a little while before he fell asleep.

Friday when hospice arrived at 12:30 they found him dead, we had just been in there 5 minutes prior and he was breathing. I do not know how he knew or why my mother in law Yvonne knew to believe him and call us but I am very glad she did. We were there and she didn't have to go through this alone and we got to do what most people wish they could, we got to say good bye.

Saturday as I sat on the patio eating an english muffin, I took in the view that Roger took in every day as he sat in the same seat.

I watched the ducks and birds he loved so much play around down below. Every week we'd go out there and every week the first thing he would ask me "did you feed the birds?" The bird feeder is in an odd place and his wife could not get to it to refill it.

Everytime I see birds at a bird feeder or ducks floating across a quiet lake I will think of you Roger

Retro Camera II

The following pictures were taken with the 4 different cameras the Retro Camera app by Urbian,Inc Comes with. I shot each picture one after the other and tried to make them all the same so you could see the difference.

Retro Camera

These are some of the first pictures I took using my new Retro Camera app by Urbian, Inc for my Droid Incredible. I'm looking forward to playing with it more and hopefully get better at taking pictures.

Dragonfly

This little guy was unafraid as I got close to take this picture. I could see his eyes follow me as I circled him to find the best picture opportunity as if he was more interested in me than I was in him.

Hidden

This cool looking plant was planted last year. The other plants in this barrel over grew it and buried it and I was sure it died away. Found the plant while trimming back the plants this spring.

Rock Garden

Had some left over succulents and a broken decorative flower pot along with some rocks. Put them together and I have one awsome little rock garden. It's amazing what you can do with left over stuff

Fireworks

One of my favorite holidays. No pressure of gifts, no dressing up, no resolutions. Just relax, eat good food and blow things up!
