We tend to forget things unless we are reminded sometimes. In my mad search to find something to photograph today, I came across this little red rubber ribbon in the junk drawer. As my fingers brushed across the surface I was reminded of a few things. It didn't remind me of AIDS, I am reminded of that everyday I wake up and see my partner who does. What it reminded me of are all the things I hear from other people.
"I hear they are close to a cure"
Not really. I've heard that since the early 90's.
"Does anybody really die of AIDS anymore"
Everyday
"With all the medication they have now, people with AIDS live happy productive lives."
The medication is harsh and relentless sometimes. The side effects can be truly horrible, making holding a steady job almost impossible sometimes. It can also be crippling or deadly in it's own right.
"If you are insured, how can AIDS be such a hardship"
It's called co-payments. Doctor visits $30, 15 to 20 prescribtions a month ranging from $10 to $60 each, guess what end that spectrum the majority are on.
"I don't know anybody who has "AIDS" or is effected by it."
Yes, you do.
Then I was reminded of the things people don't know. People don't know what it is like to walk into the living room to find there husband or wife lying on the couch, hoping they are asleep and not dead because they accidentally took too much of the wrong medication. Not once in awhile, but a couple times a week. They don't know what it's like to fight every month with the insurance company over approving the same damn medication that you have been using for the last eight years.
I was reminded of all this in fraction of a second as my fingers brushed across this tiny red rubber ribbon that I have no clue where I got. So I decided, this is what I would photograph for today. I would photograph it and post it for the challenge for all to see and hope with all my heart that you don't forget

Disneyland had it's 24 hour One More Disney Day Celebration last night. On February 29th, I got to see the sun come up at disneyland (a first for me), I saw the sun go down, then I saw the sun come up again at 6am March 1st. In between was a bunch of awsomeness. Unfortunately, my feet were there too and I guess they wanted to see the sunrise sunset sunrise but I kept them in windowless shoes so they saw nothing. Now they are making me pay for it.
Did I mention I got home and slept only two hours? I can not for the life of me sleep during the day.
View on black (Do you know what I just went through??? HUH??? Really, the least you can do is view on black!!! I can't believe you just ... blah blah blah. oh, sorry. Tired. :)

The Matterhorn Updated
With new track, new cars and a facelift to make Joan Rivers jealous, the matterhorn will reopen this summer. The cars are the coolest. They retain the same kind of look but there will be three seperate seats now instead of sharing the same seat. Which is good because my seat mate always ends up waying about 100 pounds more than me and insist on sitting in front of me, squishing me flat.
View on black and I will give you a facelift to make Joan jealous.

OK, Which One Of You Put Up That Sign!
Tom awoke to a beautiful morning. He hopped out of bed, wiped the buggers from his eyes and strolled out to the yard for some grub when he noticed the new sign hanging below the old sign.
All I can say is I've never heard a Turkey swear so much before.
View on Black and get your own Turkey ... no no, I mean go get YOUR own Turkey!!
Don't touch my Turkey
100 Pictures: #39 Interesting
Especially since I never noticed the goat standing on the rock until I was processing the photo. I was so focused on the turkey that kept staring at the Don't Feed The Animals sign.
Mater Stole My Teeth!
I saw Mater and Lightning at a photo op promoting Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. I noticed Mater sporting some fine looking teeth. My Teef, MY TEEF I hollered. Give me Back my TEEF you Feef!! They tossed me over the wall and into the river.

Sunflare, Jet Streams And Wishing Wells
My knees popped as knelt down to get the perfect shot for Cliche Saturday. I couldn't believe my luck, it was the motherlode of cliches. Wishing Wells, Sky, Sunflare, Jet Stream all rolled into one. I wasn't low enough, so I leaned further down on my already aching knee. Click click click. I got it! Standing up, knees yelling YIPPEE, I was on a hot streak. Why not make it better I thought to myself. I reached into my pocket, found some lose change, took two steps, tripped, fell into the well. I was horrified! As I fell into the dark abyss, I screamed for help. I hit the bottom with a squishy thud. I lay there, moaning, fading in and out. The last thing I saw before blacking out was a six year old looking over the side of the well a foot up. "You big baby" she said, and tossed a coin at me. It was a penny. The cheapskate.

Honk Honk Means Get Out Of The Way
To get this shot, I took my glasses off. This is what I saw. Right in the middle of saying, oohhhh look at all the pretty colors, there was a Honk Honk. So I flapped my arms around my head to try and keep the duck from pooping on me. I'm pretty sure I heard the driver snickering as the big bus ran over me.
View on Black or I'll convince you the photo has perfect clarity and you need glasses

With Style And Grace And All That Jazz
Disney gets it right most of the time but on occasion, they knock the ball right out of the park. And they did that with this. This is Princess Tiana’s Mardi Gras Celebration and they parade through New Orleans singing and dancing and having a blast I have to tell you, I usually run from these. Yes, they are cool but they get quite crowded. But this was not the same. The music started and I could see them off in the distance parading down the street. I was entranced. I pushed, shoved, bit (don't judge me) my way to the front of the crowd and had a blast.
I'm pretty sure Princess Tiana winked at me. Come to think of it, so did the Prince. I think the Aligator did too now that you mention it.
